About Me

Hello, my name is Megan.

One of the things I dislike most is when I am asked to share something interesting about myself. Everyone knows what I’m talking about. It’s that first day of class and the professor wants everyone to introduce themselves by sharing your name and something interesting. I have yet to figure out why I dislike it so much, because I don’t feel that I am that boring of a person. But when it comes down to it, I also don’t feel that I am incredibly interesting either.

I would have to say that I usually choose to tell everyone that my eyes change colors. Then, some people are just weirded out afterwards, and others are looking at me in disbelief. But it’s true. Some days my eyes are green, some days they are more blue. And then some days they are a gray/hazel color. I’ve been told it’s because of what I wear and I can see the correlation, but I like to think it’s because my eyes are super interesting.

I have a bachelors degree in psychology and a masters degree in social work. That makes life pretty interesting for me, because I look at things differently and am really interested in figuring out (or just hypothesizing to myself) why people do what they do. I recently received my license so I am now a Licensed Master’s Social Worker!

I have two dogs, a 50 lb. black lab mix that my roommate in college and I rescued from the middle of the road, and an 8 lb. chihuahua that I adopted from a rescue organization. They’re best friends and it’s the cutest thing because the chihuahua, Darla, is the size of Wendy, the black lab’s, head. I have a passion for dogs and rescue animals in general. I would love to have an animal rescue group of my own but that is just not possible right now.

I promise I will include more and make my “about me” page more visually appealing one day! 🙂
